Samsung galaxy buds live review
The Galaxy buds live price varies in different stores, on Amazon.com the price is $169.99 and the sale price is $129.99. On Amazon.co.uk the original price is £179.99 and the sale price is £99.00. On Curry PC World the original price is £159.00 and the sale price is £129.00. While on Samsung.com the original price is $169.99, while the sale price is $109.99.
The Galaxy buds live comes in four different colors, mystic black, mystic bronze, mystic red, and mystic white. Since the release, the mystic bronze has been very popular with customers including myself even though many people still think the mystic bronze does not suit them but remember it’s all about choice.
The shape of Galaxy buds live looks more like a kidney bean aesthetic, the one thing I like with Samsung buds is how easily it fits into the ear cleft and is also quite comfortable. The galaxy buds live also have a rubbery wingtip, this helps to hold the buds in place. The choice of ear tip helps you choose which fits with your ears canal comfortably, it makes the buds sit outside the ear without pushing into the ears and pump out sound.
With these ear tips, there is no sound leakage unlike most earbuds, the comfort they provide allows the Sansung galaxy buds live to sit in the ear all day without any negative earbuds feeling of pain. Another important design feature of galaxy buds live is lightweight and smooth, making them irresistible not to keep using. If you are looking for sleeping earbuds, then the Samsung galaxy buds live is ideal because of the suitable protrusion from using them. This means you won’t get those usual pushes inside the ears while sleeping. But I will have to say this, as with most true wireless earbuds, sleeping on a hard surface against or on the earbuds causes ear fatigue or soreness.
When it comes to Galaxy buds live connectivity, just popping open the lid puts it in connection mode, on an Android smartphone you will see a tiny message asking if you want to pair with your Galaxy buds. Follow the instruction. Another way to connect Galaxy buds live is to go into the device setting, go to the Bluetooth menu and select the earbud to get it connected. The buds live has 5.0 Bluetooth connectivity that’s stable, strong, and covers a fair distance making it easy to walk around your home away from the connected device without signal disruption.
My experience with the Galaxy after I forgot the phone on the table and went outside, I was still able to keep talking from the trunk of the car explaining to Eddie how our meeting should start, until I got another call and realized I hadn’t my phone with me. I quickly explain to Eddie how good the signal of Galaxy buds live is, he replied by saying his wife also said “the buds are good”. You can also pair the Samsung galaxy buds live with the Galaxy Watch3, with the wristwatch you can control the playlist easily.
The auto pause works when you pull both earbuds out of your ear, just like the Samsung Galaxy Buds, when one of the earbuds is out doesn’t stop or pause the sound, but once both of the buds is taking out, automatically the music stop playing. Most earbuds stop playing when one bud is out, but Samsung is changing the way this works by using a sensor to determine when one or both buds are out. Why I like this feature, you don’t have to have both buds in to use them. Once you pop them back in you just tap one of the buds and music plays again.
If you are familiar with earbuds you will notice that most of them come with few buttons, but the Samsung Galaxy buds live has a touchpad. You can use the touchpad to pause and play music just by tapping on it. When you double-tap on it, changes or skips track, then a triple tap takes the skip track back. Samsung has done a good job by allowing only the bud in your ears to function while the bud which is out automatically disabled. The only downfall to the touchPad is that you don’t see what menu you are choosing, you just tap and wait to hear what happens.
Samsung’s galaxy wearable app
The app helps you with most of the functions of the buds live like checking for battery life and equalizer setting to adjust the sound according to the music. With the app, you can easily activate Find My Earbuds if you don’t know where they are. When it comes to the compatibility of the app, it is compatible with any smartphone that uses Andriod 5.0 or higher and iPhone 7 or later models with iOS 10 or higher.
Active Noise Cancelling
With the app, you can choose what functions are performed by each of the buds. You can choose to activate or deactivate the active noise cancelling. The active noise cancelling helps to block out external or background noise like in a bus or train. You can tap to deactivate this so you can listen to voices from friends and flight announcements. The Active noise cancelling (ANC) can be enabled via Bluetooth or with the Galaxy wearable app.
If you are looking for studio-quality sound, then Galaxy buds live is the ideal earbud, it has a 12mm speaker that delivers massive bass to your ears. The sound it produces is natural and life-like, it puts you in the scene of action, the sound is completely natural and spacious making it my top music earbuds. You can choose to select any sound setting you want via the app. I can’t say enough about the sound these things produce, it feels like one of those Bose Surround Sound Speakers in your ears, very clear, crisp, and punchy. Listening to a podcast on these buds gives you a very clear vocal just as intended or when listening to audiobooks.
Due to the open design, you may think this would affect the sound, but that is far from it, every inch of the design is a master plan to boost sound clarity and quality. You may hear those ambient noises and environmental sounds, but the plan is to allow you to listen or hear the conversation from friends. This allows you to listen to music while listening to conversations. But with the ANC you can eliminate any background noise.
The Samsung Galaxy buds live has three microphones, one mic on the inside while two mics are on the outside, the inside mic help to pick up your voice while on call or activate voice assistant while the outside mic help to pick up external sound and ANC.
The Galaxy buds live has up to 21 hours of battery life with the charging case, on average you could get up to 5 to 6 hours of playtime on a full charge. I know you can’t compare this with those long battery life earbuds, 6 hours is good enough for on and off playtime. There is also fast wireless charging which according to them is fast, but for me, the USB charging is pretty fast. The fast wireless charge gives you up to one hour of playtime for just 5 minutes charge. If you have the music, calls, Bluetooth, ANC, and Always-on mic turned on, you will get less battery life.
The Samsung Galaxy buds live uses a smart assistant Bixby voice wake-up, with Bixby you can command the earbuds just as you would use the Alexa voice assistant and Siri. Bixby voice wake-up can increase and decrease volume, manage calls, and check the weather on your command.
The Samsung Galaxy buds live is truly wireless earbuds with every feature required. The buds live has Bluetooth stable connection, noise cancelling, 12mm speaker on each bud, strong and immersive bass, compatible with most smartphones, works with Galaxy wearable app to control most of the functionalities. The buds live are super comfortable, one look at these buds will make you want them. This is where I say thank you for reading this Samsung Galaxy buds live review, I will also appreciate and welcome your comments.
